Hairstyling
Length of Program: 1500 hours with 40 hours per week
We give you all the knowledge and hands-on experience you need to create great styles and from strong relationships with your future clients. Practical skills are first taught on mannequin and then immediately transferred to a live model. This extensive hands-on training enables the participants to gain confidence in their skills and get to meet a diverse clientele.
Hours of Program:
Monday-Tuesday-Thursday 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Wednesday 8:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Entry Requirements
- Grade 12
- Photo I.D.
- Medical
Curriculum:
- Professional Image: Make up for self application, Style and Image
- Shampooing & Treatments: Scalp treatment, Product knowledge
- Long Hair: Braiding, Extensions, Up-do's, Avant Guarde
- Hair shaping: Cutting with shears, razors and clippers on men and women
- Hair coloring: Foiling, Lightening and High lighting
- Hair Texturizing: Using permanent wave solutions and various tools
- Thermal styling & Wet Styling
- Job search , Competition, Retail Sales, Wigs & Hairpieces
In addition to our Private Training you are required by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to complete:
- 2000 hours apprenticeship in a salon
- Ontario Certificate of Qualification Examination
Academics
Testing allows us to see your progress and understanding. If you complete your program with a 90 % or higher you will receive an Academic Achievement Award !
GRADE REQUIRED FOR SUCCESFULL COMPLETION OF PROGRAM IS MINIMUM OF 70 %
Dress Code
Custom uniforms are ordered through the College.

- Large duffel bag – first day of classes only
- Binder / paper
- Pens and pencils
- Ruler, Hi-liter, Coloring pencils,
- Filter mask
- Pair of safety glasses
- Bandages
- 3-4 vegetable stacking bins and 1-2 baskets
- Water spray bottle
- Timer with minute incriments
- Camera for Portfolio Creation
